Buktikan projek beratus juta ringgit tidak gagal cegah banjir di Pahang


MRCB telah diberi kontrak beratus juta ringgit untuk mengurangkan risiko banjir di Pahang. Projek ini diberikan oleh Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran sekitar muara Sg Pahang dan persisiran pantai untuk mengurangkan risiko banjir ketika ombak pasang besar dan sebagainya. Dapatkah MRCB buktikan yang projek mereka Fasa 1 dan Fasa 2 tidak gagal kerana kini MRCB dapat pula kontrak RM130 juta untuk Fasa 3? Harap Ahli Parlimen Pakatan Rakyat dan BN dapat membangkitkan isu ini di Parlimen.

MRCB DAPAT PROJEK PEMULIHARAAN SUNGAI PAHANG FASA 3 BERNILAI RM130 JUTA

30 Ogos 2013(Bernama) -- Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) memperoleh Projek Pemuliharaan Muara Sungai Pahang Fasa 3 bernilai RM130 juta di Pekan, Pahang. Kontrak itu diberikan oleh Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran.

Kuala Sungai Pahang (Phase 1)

The project was implemented in phases due to budget constraint. The main objectives can only be fulfilled once the Project is fully implemented.

The main objectives of the overall Project works are:
(i) To reduce the risk of coastal flooding to Pekan town and the surrounding areas.

Nevertheless, MRCB completed the Phase I works in December 2010 within 2 years contract period. For erosion control at Sungai Pahang river bank, rock revetment was build to dissipate high current velocity.

Kuala Sungai Pahang (phase 2)
Kuala Pahang Phase 2 works is carried out to continue the construction of the completed Phase 1 works without affecting the overall performance requirements of the full design. The project is expected to commence later in July 2011 and expected to complete in 18 months period.

The Phase 2 works will include:

(i) Partial construction of the northern breakwaters and dykes (at the Kuala Pahang river mouth) with the necessary temporary protection at the breakwater heads.
Another aspect of mitigation measures to be carried out is coastal flooding at Pekan Town. A coastal flooding study was also incorporated in the design of coastal protection structure in Phase II works.
